Encinitas, CA - Work Loss Data Institute
(WLDI), publisher of Official Disability Guidelines (ODG), the
nationally recognized, multi-disciplinary standard for
evidence-based medicine for medical treatment and return-to-work, is
pleased to announce a program for current subscribers to obtain ODG
Certification.
Criteria for obtaining certification requires
that the applicant has a current subscription to ODG and obtains a
score of 80% or higher on the
ODG Certification Quiz which follows
the complimentary one hour online training program,
ODG: Good to
Go! Qualifying participants will receive a certificate and seal to
show ODG Certification from Work Loss Data Institute that will be
valid for one year from the date issued. Certification can be
re-obtained annually by renewing subscription to ODG and completion
of the then-current quiz. ODG Certification designations include
Certified Provider, Reviewer, Case Manager, Adjuster, Attorney, and
at the organizational level, Carrier, TPA and URO.
Evidence based
medicine is ever-changing due to advances in medical, surgical and
pharmaceutical treatment protocols, as well as new findings in
complementary or alternative medicine, pain management and physical
medicine and rehabilitation. ODG is unique in that treatment
recommendations are based on the most current research with direct
links to the supporting evidence, and recommended treatment options
are integrated with reported return-to-work best practice pathways,
clearly reflecting the impact today’s science has on outcomes and
return to functionality.
ODG
Certification demonstrates that a provider, reviewer, case manager,
adjuster or attorney is up-to-date with the latest treatment
options, has a commitment to the principals of evidence-based
medicine, and has a process in place to demonstrate knowledge and
use of the best treatment and return-to-work data available.
Work Loss Data
Institute will maintain an ODG Certified Resource Center through
which insurers, employers, TPA’s, provider networks, etc. can refer
to assist in identifying ODG Certified Agents for treatment, peer
review, IME, UR or case management needs.
