WiserTogether, Work Loss Data Institute, And Peers Health Team To Guide Consumers’ Return To Health

George West, TX, Sept. 27, 2016 –WiserTogether, Inc., the treatment decision support pioneer, announced a new partnership with Work Loss Data Institute (WLDI) and Peers Health that includes rights to use WLDI’s Official Disability Guidelines (ODG) data to power its consumer-facing treatment guidance solutions.

The first of its kind solution, Return to Health®, offers health care consumers the ability to see which treatments helped patients recover most quickly from a wide variety of conditions, including cardiac and musculoskeletal diagnoses.  The addition of the ODG data is a game-changing enhancement to its tools that currently incorporate curated clinical evidence and proprietary patient satisfaction rating data.

“Our research showed duration is a common primary concern to consumers as they consider treatment choices,” said WiserTogether founder, Shub Debgupta. “Let’s face it, no one wants to be sicker, longer. By incorporating the ODG guidelines into our proprietary systems, we can help consumers understand how to minimize the time they lose from their productive, daily lives when they are sick or injured.”

Jon Seymour, CEO of Peers Health, added, “When we partnered with WLDI over a year ago, our goal was to expand the use of ODG into mainstream health care. When patients return to work, they have demonstrably returned to health. Empowering patients with real-world data to make good treatment choices is fundamental to improving every physician-patient encounter. Payers, plan sponsors, and providers all stand to benefit from patient exposure to this new, revolutionary treatment guidance.”

A recent study found compliance with ODG guidelines resulted in over 37% savings on incurred medical costs and a 13% reduction in disability duration.  Matt Halle, WiserTogether Chief Commercial Officer said, “The health care industry has known for 30 years that Shared Decision Making drives higher satisfaction and lower costs. Return to Health elevates that process by making all the critical elements necessary for true patient engagement accessible at the critical moment of decision.”

The company will begin offering its Return to Health solution to plan sponsors, employers, payers and health care providers in late 2016/early 2017.
