ODG Chooses to Withdraw from the National Guideline Clearinghouse

George West, TX, Jun. 16, 2016 – Work Loss Data Institute (WLDI), publisher of ODG, announced that it has decided to withdraw the ODG guidelines from the National Guideline Clearinghouse.

The portion of ODG that was offered for free on Guidelines.gov was not kept up to date on the NGC website, and misrepresented ODG. WLDI was told by the NGC review team that the fact that ODG continuously updates a large number of topics and recommendations makes it a challenge to keep it updated on the site.

As of last week, ODG was the only remaining for-profit guideline represented on the NGC website, Guideline.gov. WLDI President, Phil Denniston, said, “Commercial guidelines are successful at improving outcomes because they are comprehensive and up to date, and that is our mission. For that reason, we will not be submitting future guidelines to NGC.”

ODG is the most comprehensive and up-to-date medical treatment and return to work guideline worldwide, providing evidence-based decision support to improve as well as benchmark outcomes in workers’ comp, non-occupational disability and general health insurance. ODG is available as an online subscription for individual or group use. Click here to view the ODG Methodology.
